Located just a 12-minute drive away from the Fisher’s Hotel, Blair Castle and Gardens originates from the 13th Century. Blair Castle is the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl, a history of over 700 years. It is one of the most accessible Scottish castles, family friendly and with plenty to see and do.
Home of the Atholl Highlanders – Europe’s only private army, harking back to the days when every Highland Chief has his own army. You can visit Hercules Garden and Sculpture Trail, Diana’s Grove, Old Blair Kirk and the grave of the 17th C Jacobite Commander Bonnie Dundee.
The Castle
The Castle is home to politicians, soldiers, agriculturalists and entrepreneurs, the family history is brought to life against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scottish baronial architecture, in 30 rooms. The Castle caters for events such as weddings or private functions having each event individually planned.
The Gardens
The historic landscaped nine-acre walled garden features an extensive wooded grove, a ruined kirk, a red deer park and a gothic folly. Hercules Garden has been restored to its original Georgian design and features ponds, a folly, a Chinese bridge and an authentic orchard of more than 100 fruit trees.

Make sure and pop into the stunning gift shop located in the castle. Offering a range of beautiful products many of which are made in Scotland. Choose from clothing, accessories, crafts, souvenirs, books, jewllery, children’s toys and more.
For the kids
The woodland adventure playground is a great hit with the little ones.
